An Inner Journey ||The poetic journey of Arkajyoti Samanta may be summed up in his own words: "Each time I need an answer I run to this narrow river, I watch the flow, listen the murmur . . . I need this gentle flow, a gentle touch! This flow is life -— No need for a full tide! . . .". The metaphor of the river recurs in his poems. A keen observer of life in its myriad bends, he has also a glimpse of the "other side of the river". The journey, however, is basically inner. "To know me, I need a travel — let me set out it inside." In his poetry, there is a discernible affirmation of humanism and other positive values. A significant aspect of his poetic output is his spiritual belief. I wish more of creative soaring for Arkajyoti in course of time.
